Description

Introduction:
Tetracaine hydrochloride is a highly effective local anesthetic that reversibly blocks nerve function. It is clinically used for infiltration anesthesia, nerve block anesthesia, epidural anesthesia, etc. Compared with procaine, its local anesthesia effect is remarkable. It has been widely used in clinical practice. Research on the existing synthetic route found that the synthesis of the intermediate p-butylaminobenzoic acid is a key step in the synthesis of tetracaine hydrochloride, and Chemicalbook has always had the disadvantage of unstable raw materials or low yield in this step. Scientists have improved and perfected this. In 1981, it was proposed to synthesize p-butylaminobenzoic acid by alkylation of p-aminobenzoic acid , but due to the unavoidable generation of dibutylated by-products, and The raw material itself is unstable in nature, making this route unsuitable for industrial production.

Usage:
This product is a long-acting ester local anesthetic with the following characteristics: strong penetrating power to mucous membranes, suitable for topical anesthesia, no adverse reactions such as vasoconstriction, mydriasis, and corneal damage after eye instillation. It is commonly used in ophthalmology. Both local anesthetic effects and toxicity are about 10 times greater than procaine. After injection, the intoxication effect of anesthesia is slow (about 10 minutes), and the metabolism after absorption is also slow, and the local anesthesia time is as long as 3IJ, H,-J. about. It is mainly used for surface anesthesia of the mucous membranes of the eyes, nose and throat, and is rarely used for conduction anesthesia and epidural anesthesia. Due to its high toxicity, it is generally not used for infiltration anesthesia.
